My name is Joanne Thomas but most people call me Jo. I am a local candidate, a wife and a mother. I have worked as a PA in the private and public sector and more recently I have owned a small business. I am a fluent Welsh speaker. I am a WASPI WOMAN! I do not come from a wealthy background and I know what it is to struggle. That is why I strongly believe in the Labour values of equality of opportunity and fairness. I am a battler but I am also a good listener, and I will fight hard for the people of this constituency.

I voted to remain in the EU and I believe we should have a second referendum to determine whether and how we leave the EU.However, this election is about much more than Brexit. We need a Labour government committed to tackling climate change, creating a more equal society and investing in our NHS, social care, and education.

Please vote for me so that we can start the task of building a better future for the many and not the few.

Incidentally, a number of people have asked me why I’ve dyed my hair the colour of the rainbow? Quite simply it was dyed this colour to commemorate the 50thAnniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which took place on the 28thJune, 1959 at the Stone Wall Inn, Greenwich Village, New York

The following year saw the first Pride March and then in 1989 we welcomed https://www.stonewall.org.uk/

It is also in memory of a friend of mine who might have been alive today had she been able to have the support that Stonewall now offers our friends in the LGBQT community

Fy enw yw Joanne Thomas ond mae pobol yn fy ngalw’n Jo.

Rydwyf yn ymgeisydd lleol, gwraig a mam, yn  rhugl yn y Gymraeg.

Yr wyf wedi gweithio fel cynorthwyydd persontol yn y sector preifat a chyhoeddus ond yn fwy diweddar mi roeddwn yn perchenog siop dillad.

Cefndir cyffredin iawn sydd gennyf, a mae bywyd ddim o hyd wedi bod yn hawdd i mi. Dyna pam rwyf yn credu’n gryf yng nghwerthoedd y Blaid Lafur o cydraddoldeb a thegwch. Dwi’n brwydwraig gyda’r gallu i wrando ac ymladd dros pobol.

Pleidleisiais i aros yn yr UE, a chredaf y dylem gael ail refferendwm i benderfynu a ddylem adael yr UE a sut i’w wneud. Ond mae’r etholiad hwn yn llawer mwy na Brexit. Mae gwir angen llywodraeth Lafur i ddod i afael ar newid hinsawdd, i greu gymdeithas teg, ac i buddsoddi mewn iechyd, gofal ac addysg.

Goffynaf am eich bleidlais er mwyn dechra’r gwaith o greu well dyfodol.

Gyda llaw, mae nifer o bobl wedi gofyn i mi pam fy mod wedi lliwio fy ngwallt lliw’r Enfys? Yn syml, cafodd ei liwio fel hyn i goffáu penblwydd 50ed terfysgoedd Stonewall, a gynhaliwyd ar yr 28ain o Fehefin, 1959 yn y Stonewall Inn, Greenwich Village, Efrog Newydd. Y flwyddyn ganlynol cafwyd gorymdaith cyntaf “PRIDE” ac yna yn 1989 Croesawyd https://www.stonewall.org.uk/

Mae hefyd i gofio cyfaill i mi ac efallai fydde’n dal yn fyw heddiw pe bai wedi gallu cael y gefnogaeth y mae Stonewall bellach yn ei gynnig i’n cyfeillion yn y gymuned lesbiaidd, hoyw, deurywiol a thraws.
